Comprehensive Speech-Language Evaluations

Assessment of speech-language skills is a complex process. I provide a comprehensive speech-language evaluation to identify your child's unique speech/language needs. The assessment process includes:

  • Collecting background information about your child's birth, medical, educational, and family history.

  • Conducting personalized standardized and non-standardized testing to assess your child's expressive and receptive language skills, pragmatic language skills, articulation, fluency, voice.

  • Writing a speech-language evaluation report that outlines your child's speech/language strengths and needs

  • Making recommendations for next steps, including any follow-up assessments and treatment.

Speech-Language Therapy

I develop a unique speech-language therapy plan that relates to the needs of your child. Speech therapy should be motivating and fun! In addition to creating motivating materials for therapy sessions, I will provide you with the tools you need to work with your child at home to accelerate the therapy process.  If your child is struggling with academics, I work with them and modify reading and/or writing assignments to allow for academic success. Specialties include (but not limited to):

  • Articulation disorders

  • Receptive language (comprehension)

  • Expressive language (word-retrieval, syntax)

  • Social skills

  • Written language

  • Higher level language skills (inferences, predictions, figurative language)

  • Fluency Disorders (Stuttering, Cluttering)
